There are places where he doesn't go
because it obscures the glow of her face.
He avoids certain colors of light
because it mistreats the hue of her eyes.
In the darkness he can sit for hours
to gaze into the warm light of her soul.
In the dawn's light he finds close comfort
and holds her alabaster skin in his vision;
for moment upon moment through time
and lets her soul seep into his skin.
